Abstract
A continuing incidence of pneumonias caused by gram-negative bacilli other than Klebsiella pneumoniae is noted. Distinguishing characteristics of each of the pneumonias have been confirmed. A mortality of approximately 70% for 50 patients with either Escherichia coli or Pseudomonas pneumonias at the Detroit Receiving Hospital from 1963 to 1968 has been defined.
